Vue - Primative objects and attribute changing (Page 3) - Page 1 Page 2

  • This table needs a top.
  • Create a Cylinder Primative

  • Step 15
  • Lets (1) Resize it and (2) Move it to a new layer (In Vue 5 you may need to create the layer)

  • Now we will cut the cylinder in half to create a half top for our table.
  • Create a Cube and move it in to the same layer as our cylinder
  • Resize the cube as per the pic below.

  • Now we will cut the cylinder in half
  • First we will need to position it so it cuts the cylinder as per the pic below.

  • Lets Cut the Cylinder
  • We will perforn a Boolean Difference (subraction) withe the Cylinder and cube.
  • This means the physical space occupied by the cube only is taken away from thecylinder.
  • (1) Select both the Cylinder and Cube.
  • The position is important - We are going to take away the cube from the cylinder
  • (2) Perform the Operation Menu/Obeject/Make Boolean/Boolean Difference

  • The result of yur boolen should look like this

  • All we need to do now is
  • (1) Rename our Boolean to "top"
  • (2) Reposition the top so it rests on our frame.
  • (3) Move it into the same layer as our legs and frame
  • (4) and group all assemblies, top/Legs/Frame (Control G)to put them together asnd rename it as "table".
